Our tips for mountain hut and alp experiences

The Radurschl alp

From Pfund's village steeply ascending to the Ulrich chapel or moderately ascending along the stream through the Radurschl gorge, the path leads through the cultural and natural landscape of the Radurschl valley through well-kept mountain meadows and forests, along the Radurschl stream to the Radurschl alp and the Swiss stone pine sculpture park.

Kobler alp

Fresh milk, cheese and butter - you can enjoy this and much more on the Kobler alp. The Kobler alp high above Pfunds offers an unforgettable experience.

House of Hohenzollern

The house of Hohenzollern at 2120 m can be reached in 2 hours by means of the hiking bus. An easy path leads from the exit point slightly uphill to the Radurschl alp.

There, the open-air exhibition "In the realm of the Swiss stone pine" (the largest closed Swiss stone pine forest in the Alps) causes a sensation. The trail continues past waterfalls steeply up to the end of the valley to the house of Hohenzollern (alpine club hut). Possibility to stay overnight, starting point for tours to the surrounding three thousand metre peaks (e.g. Glockturm 3,353 m) or to the neighbouring Kauner valley or Langtauferer valley.

Gschneirer alp

Enjoy the wonderful variety of mountain flora that this high valley has to offer. An absolute must here is a wonderful "Almjause" (own alpine cheese). Return via Greit and Klammsteig.

Platzer alp

The path leads through the Tscheytal valley and continues on the narrow alpine path slightly ascending into the lonely and narrow high valley. On the narrow alpine pasture path we walk slightly uphill into the lonely Platzer valley. Over bridges and always next to the thundering Platzer stream, the path swings slightly uphill in a loop. Passing the abandoned buildings of the former ore and silver processing plants, we reach the Platzer alp 2181 m, where we are greeted by the three thousand metre high peaks of the Glockturm crests.

Alpe Zanders

Wonderful hike through the Zanders valley, past lush mountain meadows - lots of medicinal herbs and a large selection of alpine flowers - to the Fließer alp.

The Alpe Zanders (Fließer alp) is situated at 2000m in the high alpine landscape in the Spiss municipal area. It is not only an excellent destination for excursions, but is also suitable as a starting point for numerous hikes. For its visitors the beautiful alp offers a breathtaking view of the mountains of the Samnaun group. The butter and the alpine cheese freshly made by the alpine dairyman can be consumed along with other small snacks in the cosy parlour or on the sunny terrace.   Marmots can be spotted there (and of course also on many other alpine pastures mentioned here) again and again - or at least - heard.

There are about 300 cattle and 200 sheep on the alpine pasture.

Fendler alp

From the valley station of the double chair lift along the forest road, you walk on a partly steep but good path through pastureland to the Fendler alp. The panorama ranges from Fiss, Ladis to the Venet area.
